O'Brien Transport

Road transport is the backbone of Australia’s economy and O’Brien Transport, based in Albury NSW, has been providing freight delivery along Australia’s east coast since 1948. With 85 employees, the family owned company provides local and interstate transport services with a focus on great customer relationships. Since establishment, the company has grown to develop a complete regional distribution network.


O’Brien Transport needed to streamline their workflow to improve handling of their existing system to enable better response times to customers and improve their invoicing capabilities. The solution needed to integrate with their core management system, Translogix.

Solution: A single solution across the business

Ricoh’s Albury-Wodonga branch was already providing Managed Document Services across O’Brien’s office and depots. Ricoh’s strong understanding of O’Brien’s business led them to identify a solution to automate their PODs process as well as a complete refresh and outsourcing of their IT infrastructure.   A Ricoh-customised EzeScan solution now provides O’Brien Transport with the flexibility to incorporate their POD workflow to one that can be automated.

After conducting a complete audit of O’Brien Transport’s new IT environment, Ricoh IT Services implemented a staged rollout comprising a refresh of their network along with new hardware, including servers, switches, thin clients and monitors.


As a result of their partnership with Ricoh, O’Brien Transport now have an improved back office workflow with a reliable infrastructure. They have a single point of contact for any issues around document management and IT services.
